Indian spice may help fight stroke!

First turmeric was supposed to be a cure for diabetes, now scientists say that it can help people fight stroke damage. Researchers in Los Angeles say extracts from turmeric may help the body repair some of the damage caused by a stroke. Turmeric is a common oriental spice used to flavor foods in Indian cuisine. In this study, the extract from turmeric known as curcumin was modified and tested on animals. However, it had to be given within the first 3 hours after a stroke to be effective.

So should the consumer start pigging on this spice?

Relax; turmeric has been used in oriental cooking for centuries and these individuals’ eats kilograms of this spice on an annual basis. There is zero evidence that Orientals who eat this spice have less severe strokes or have a better ability to heal after a stroke. These studies look promising but these experiments were done on rabbits. There are some major differences between a rabbit and a human, and to the best of my knowledge rabbits are not known to consume curry powder, turmeric or Indian cuisine.

If you want to prevent a stroke, control your blood pressure, eat healthy, walk regularly, do not smoke and stop reading BS health news.
